Wellington Camp!

Wellington Camp 2015!

In week 7 Rimu class went up to Wellington for camp. We did lots of activities and went to lots of different places. My favourite place we went to was Capital E.

Capital E is like a live TV studio, when we were there we filmed Wake Up New Zealand. I was on sound with Asher, we had lots of funny moments the whole time we were filming.

The Mysterious Skeleton

After a cold and stormy winter, I was walking through the park and everywhere I looked there was leaves. It was over by a tall tree I noticed that there was a small ditch and I was curious to see if there was any water in it. I strolled over to the ditch and I could see there was only mud, but when I got closer something white was sticking out. I bent over to brush some mud off it, and I could see that it was a skull I didn't know what to think or what to do.

100WC

It's 108 words but it's close enough,

Legend says there used to be a black balloon that floated around town. No one had ever deared to touch the balloon in fear of what might happen if it popped. But one day some kids were fooling around with the balloon and even though they knew the legends they didn't care. One of the kids held out the balloon ready for one of the other children to pop it, but just as the child came up to pop it, the balloon exploded. Only one of the children lived. But he turned mental all he could say was,
"It felt like..." And then he would just stop.

A Teddy Bears Wedding

It was at the end of the ceremony and it was time for Tedalina and Ted to go out to the car and drive to where they were going to get their photos taken. They drove up to the hills where there was a magnificent view of the town below. The pictures they got taken were beautiful, a lot of the photos were taken with the groomsmen and the bridesmaids in the car. On the way back to the reception they had a fatal crash and all the groomsmen and bridesmaids were killed, as well as the bride and groom.

My Speech

In Rimu Class we have been writing speeches, my topic was 'High School Students Should Not Have Homework'. I enjoyed writing this speech because I found out a lot about it. Next time I would look more into my topic and get more information. I think that High school students would be better off without homework because after school they would be able to spend more time with their families, rather than be in their room doing work.
If there is anything I can improve on please let me know in the comments?

Our Everyday Hero!

Rimu have just finished making their digi awards. Morgan and I chose the Ripple Effect; it was hard to choose an everyday hero but we got there in the end. I learnt how to add music of your own in and cut videos. If I did it again I would make the video a bit longer and put more detail in. Here is mine and Morgan's, hope you enjoy.
Are there any improvements we could've made?
Let us know in the comments :)

School Ski Trip!

On Friday 28th of August, Rimu, Kauri and Totara took a bus up to Mt Hutt Ski Field. The bus ride up there was fine, up until about halfway up the mountain the clutch went and we were stuck on the bus; the driver tried rolling the bus backwards and the putting it into gear but it wouldn't work. Every time we rolled backwards people squealed. About 5 minutes later there were two other buses up the mountain and they were kind enough to take us up the rest of the way. It was a very intense morning.

Once we got up to the ski field we got our gear (boots, skis, poles and helmets) and most of us went for a quick ski down the Magic Carpet (the beginners slope) to refresh our minds on how to ski. The quad is the next level up kind of like intermediate. Also it's very slow going up which is frustrating because all people want to do is get up there and ski.I spent most of my time skiing down the quad with the boys because I couldn't find anyone else.

Friday was a fun day and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Next year when I go skiing I am going to try and go down Summit Six which is the very top slope.

Term 3 Technology

Yesterday, on Thursday 23rd July, we returned to our third term of Manual at Lincoln Primary. This term I am in Textiles and my teacher is Mrs Paterson. As it was the first day in Textiles we just made a little pillow or a bag tag. I made a small pillow with a heart in the middle. I found out that hand stitching isn't as hard as I thought it would be.
I also need some ideas for what to make this term please comment if you have any ideas. :)

100WC #35

Prompt : ...but it made my tongue tingle...

Today is the last day of summer holidays so I'm going to make the most of it. I’m going out with my best friend for ice cream and a walk along the beach, it’s a beautiful day. I set out to the ice cream shop with my friend, we talk all the way there. When we get there I get the new flavour; Sour Lemon. As we make our way toward the sandy beach I take a lick of my ice cream, but then it made my tongue tingle and feel furry. I cringed and accidentally dropped the ice cream.

...so as she lifted the lid...

As she takes very small steps towards the regular sized parcel sitting on the table, she gets a whiff of something very horrid. The smell is so bad she has to place her hand over her nose and mouth. She finally got to the box. She put her hands to the box and so as she lifted the lid the smell got worse, but the sight that struck her was even worse than the odor in the air. The head of her childhood teddy bear, saturated with blood, gagging she ran to the bathroom. She knows she has a stalker...

Swimming 2015

Swimming Sports

For the past 2 weeks we have been having swimming lessons, to prepare us for swimming sports. Swimming sports day came around and I had entered in 3 races freestyle 1 length, backstroke 1 length and dive for rings.

I won my first race 1 length freestyle, came 3 in backstroke and I got 3 rings in diving for rings. After swimming we went back into class and had a normal day. It was a really hot day and everyone wanted to jump in the pool. Swimming sports was really fun and everyone looked like they enjoyed it.

100WC Week #33

Unfortunately the weather was not on my side today, with dark grey clouds and thunder rumbling like the start of an earthquake, a storm was brewing. One tree was struck with lightning twice, but the ferocious wind made the fire catch onto other trees which then set a whole line up in flames. The chaos had started all over again just like last week, people screaming, thunder and lightning but the wind, the wind was just terrible making some of the oldest trees topple over and crash to the ground. Tomorrow will be another day of cleaning up the streets.

What Have I done To Be A Healthy Individual?

What I Have Done to be A Healthy Individual This Term?

This term I have been running most mornings and afternoons, getting lots of sleep so that my brain will function properly in the morning. I also made sure that I have had breakfast in the morning so that I can learn properly. This term our class have been healthy individuals by running, beep test and swimming. Next term I hope we are continuing this, I enjoyed it.
